    Port Ewen, N.Y. Helen Komsa, a resident of Port Ewen, formerly of Middletown, died peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 83. The daughter of the late Conrad and Rose Gola Doviak, she was born October 8, 1920 in Garfield, N.J. Helen married Roman Komsa in September of 1941 in Garfield, N.J. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Middletown until she relocated to Port Ewen two years ago. A family statement reads, Helen was a kind and patient woman. She loved her family and children and believed a loving family conquers all. She had a wonderful personality and was a great listener. She was also a great cook. She was predeceased by her husband, Roman on March 23, 1999. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 9 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown.Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Middletown.Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
