He was an Army veteran serving in World War II, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10600 in Blairstown, New Jersey and a former member of the Benda Rohrich Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Garfield. He was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Clifton. He was preceded in death by his wife.
