    John P. Kurpiel, 90, of Burlington, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.
    Born in Chicago on June 10, 1927, he was the son of Peter and Regina (nee Labus) Kurpiel. He spent his early life in Chicago where he graduated from high school. He served in the Navy during World War II. On October 30, 1954, he was united in marriage to Angeline H. Plaza. They made their home in Chicago before moving to Burlington in 1969. Angeline preceded him in death on August 24, 2003.
    John was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church [WI?]. He worked for the Naval Regional Finance Center in Waukegan; enjoyed taking walks and spending time with his family.
    He is survived by his children, […]PRIV; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Genevive Tobis, Rose Beltowski; and brothers, Joe Kurpiel, Walter Kurpiel and Flory Kurpiel.
    The family asks that memorials go to AngelsGrace Hospice, W359 N7430 Brown St., Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
    Mass of Christian Burial for John will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Carlos Zapata officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held in Good Shepherd Chapel on Wednesday, July 26th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
